January 28, 2007 - Think January might be a little early to make plans for Christmas? Not when admission to the Christmas Party at the Shelby American Collection in Boulder, Colorado is limited to the first 350 Shelby enthusiasts who write in for an Invitation. You'll want to mark your calendar now when you see the list of special guests you could have swapped Shelby stories with at last year's event! And it's not just the celebrities. I can't think of a better group of people to celebrate the Holidays with. See you in Boulder.

February 12, 2006 - J.J. Rodman's Dragonsnake, CSX 2472, just sold for $695,000 at the RM Auction in Boca Raton, Florida. By all accounts, small-block 260/289 Cobra prices have virtually doubled in the last two years, with factory comp cars bringing record amounts. Most experts agree that this trend will continue through 2006.

June 15, 2005 - CSX 2248, "El Cid," has always been somewhat of a mystery car among the six Dragonsnakes. I suspected it had a great history, but little of it has ever been published. Now Hans Schmidt, original owner/driver of El Cid, has come forward with a fascinating story from the early days. Read what he has to say, in his own words.

February 8 , 2005 - Rich Mason, owner of CSX 2427, supplied new photos, documentation, and some interesting footnotes. Read what Donald Reimer, one of the original owners, remembers about the car's history.

February 5 , 2005 - "J.J." Rodman, Jr. sent in photos of CSX 2472, taken prior to the start of his vintage race career in 1990. If you're looking to buy a real Dragonsnake, call him at 412-486-8175. The asking price is $650,000.

To put that into perspective, CSX 2128, a 289 factory comp Cobra with an impressive race history, just set a world record at the January Russo & Steele auction at Scottsdale, AZ by changing hands for a cool $2,133,000. That's two million, plus the retail price of a new Ford GT! A plain vanilla 289 street Cobra with wire wheels and Webers brought $388,800 at the Barrett & Jackson auction the same weekend.

December 29, 2004 - I've found a short movie clip of CSX 2357 and will ask for permission to include it in the library. Short of that, this site is complete but will continue to grow as new material comes to light.

Fun projects are fun but don't pay the bills. It's time I got back to Morning Flight, free (and not so free) estimating software for small to medium-sized print shops. If you work in the Graphic Arts or know someone who does, visit printfire.com for more info.

December 6, 2004 - Documents for CSX 2019 added. Documentation for the other five Dragonsnakes will be included as soon as the owners provide it.

December 4, 2004 - Tech sheets added. Includes a drag modification list supplied by Leonard Parsons to Randy Berry in 1964.

November 27, 2004 - Chapter on independent competition cars added. Ed Hedrick was kind enough to contribute the first article in a series entitled in their own words.

November 17, 2004 - Basic site now 50% complete and moved to dragonsnakes.com. Dave Friedman and Rick Kopec: Thank you for allowing me to show your photos and SAAC Registry entries on this website.

October 10, 2004 - Dragonsnakes.com is soft-launched for testing. Only Richard Kopec, Ned Scudder, Dave Friedman, Dan Hampton, and a few friends have been given the inside track.
